New images have made their way onto social media platforms showing the 142.81m Sailing Yacht A emerge from her build-dock for the first time. Local reports suggest that the vessel was manoeuvred of the dock and into the surrounding lake area to perform basic engine start-up tests and the swinging of her compass. Superyacht project Solar has arrived at the Oceanco shipyard in The Netherlands. The yacht is designed by Nuvolari & Lenard, and measures 106 metres. Solar is 15 metre wide and is in the 3000 GRT range. Her Dyna rig will push her to the speeds over 20 knots. 51m Borkumriff IV at the Superyacht Cup
The schooner Borkumriff IV recently confirmed they will join the impressive line-up of yachts for this year's Superyacht Cup in Palma. Holland Jachtbouw has announced the order for the construction of a replica of one of the most sensational J-Class yachts ever built. The contract for the 39.5-metre Yankee was officially signed by Simon Dierdorp, the leader of the syndicate, at the Monaco show and the race is now on to have the yacht ready in time for the J-Class regatta events in England in summer 2012. readmore

On Monday July 19th Rainbow JH2 was transported on a barge to Holland Jachtbouw in Zaandam. Zwartsluis based HEBO took care of the transport, across the IJsselmeer and through Amsterdam. The latest additions to the entry list for The Superyacht Cup Antigua are the two spectacular J Class yachts, Hanuman and Ranger. Hanuman, a replica of the yacht Endeavour II, was originally built to challenge for the America’s Cup against the defender, Ranger, in 1937.
J-Class update on Rainbow
A replica of the J-Class Rainbow, the famous American yacht which won the 1934 America’s Cup, has started building at Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw at Makkum in Holland. In 1999 a Dutch shipyard signed a contract with a German client to build a 47m sailing yacht for delivery in June 2001. Two years before the same owner had taken delivery of a 31m Jongert, Erica XI of Hamilton and this new yacht was to be named Erica XII. The renderings released by Ted Hood, the Naval Architect, showed a beautiful blue hulled ketch based on the lines of two other yachts he had designed. readmore
