The second edition of the Qatar International Boat Show began yesterday at Mourjan Marinas in Lusail City. Held from the 1tth - 15th November, I was given an exclusive look on board one of the show’s main attractions, a 30 metre luxury dhow. 150m+ Superyacht arrives at Mariotti for outfitting

On the 26th of October, we were the first yachting publication to publish about the 150m+ superyacht, that was enroute to Mariotti to be completed. The yacht has now arrived at the yard in Genoa, where SYT managed to obtain these exclusive photos of the high volume yacht. Washed up yacht gets vandalized and destroyed

A yacht, Criola II, ran aground, and washed up on a beach near Raia da Reserva, close to Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. As if this wasn't enough bad luck for the owner and his crew, the yacht was then vandalized the following days by local youth. The yacht's owner told a local news agency the yacht ran aground due to a lack of fuel. Read More

After the auction her name was changed to Sea Ranger and she left the Mediterranean for a refit, which we believe took place in Romania. Yesterday morning, a fire destroyed the 39.6 metre gulet Gem in Turkey. The wooden yacht was built by Aegean Yachts in 1998, and has been active on the charter market. Fire destroys superyacht Polar Bear

The 31 metre superyacht Polar Bear caught fire at the Chula Vista Marina Thursday morning, destroying the yacht. Polar Bear was delivered in 2011, by Citadel Yachts. According to local new stations, the fire started just before 9.30 in the morning, at Marine Group Boat Works. The fire lasted for several hours. There a no reports about injuries.​ Read More

For a while we have been wondering what had happened with the former Iraqi Presidential yacht Basrah Breeze, built in 1981 in Denmark at the Helsingor Vaerft, for the late dictator Saddam Hussein. Photos taken a few weeks ago confirm that the yacht is still sailing under the name Bashra Breeze and that she is docked in the city, after which she is named. The captain of superyacht Penny Mae tells us that the yacht has recently been audited and has received her MLC 2006 Certificate, and in doing so has become one of the first Marshall Islands flagged yacht under 500 ton to become certified. All commercial ships and charter yachts are now required to comply to the MLC2006 standards. Final outfitting of 99 metre Feadship project Dream underway

Two weeks ago, Feadship launched the largest Feadship to date. The 99-metre masterpiece was created by the Feadship yard in Makkum and is also the largest superyacht ever built in the Netherlands. Since her launch, the yacht was moved to Amsterdam, where her propellers were fitted. She is now back in the North of Holland. Read More

World's largest yacht Eclipse docks in NYC

Eclipse, the world's largest yacht, owned by a famous Russian, has arrived in Manhattan. As far as we know, it is the first time the yacht has docked in NYC. Firefighters in Nice have responded to a fire on board the 2003 built superyacht 360°. The fire seems to have damaged the bridge deck of the 47 metre yacht. Statement by Burgess on sinking of superyacht Yogi

Burgess confirms, with regret, reports that the 60 metre motor yacht Yogi sank 19 nautical miles off the Island of Skyros on Friday morning 17 February. All 8 crew were safely rescued and there was no loss of life. No passengers were on board the yacht at the time of the incident. The cause of the sinking has not been identified and confirmed. The 60.20 metre Yogi, built in 2011, has sank to the East off the coast of Skyros in Greece, in bad weather. All on board were evacuated from the yacht by rescue helicopters. On August 8th, a fire broke out on superyacht Godspeed, off the coast of Santa Teresa di Riva, a small town in the province of Messina, Sicily, about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Taormina. At around 04:30 saturday morning, strong winds caused Pari to drag anchor off Cap Ferrat, pushing her up against the rocks. Eight people were on the yacht when the incident occured, seven of them have been rescued off the yacht by French authorities.
