On Friday 20 February, Marie - a 55m Hoek designed ketch and hull sister to the renowned world cruiser Adele (another MCM project) - was rolled over at Vitters Shipyard, Zwartsluis, The Netherlands.
Owner’s construction manager, Nigel Ingram, one of the founding partners of MCM Newport says: “This is the first hull that Vitters has built in-house for some years. She is bang on schedule and exhibits a high level of metalwork skills.”
The final construction details will be completed over the next months including the addition of the two deckhouses and the hull will move to Vitter’s finishing hall on May 1st.
MCM, with offices in Newport, USA and Palma, Mallorca, celebrates its 21st birthday in 2009 having managed the construction of well over 60 large yachts.
