The Antalya based superyacht builder Sunrise Yachts informs SuperYachtTimes.com that their first 45 metre superyacht, Africa, is nearing completion and will make her first public appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show. Meanwhile the sistership of Africa, hull 182, is well underway for a scheduled delivery in the Spring of 2010. The two 45m motor yachts are progressing according to plan and Africa will be launched anytime soon. She went into the shipyard’s fully acclimatized paint-shed a few weeks ago, arguably the largest and most modern in the Eastern Mediterranean (66m x 16m x 18m). When she has completed her sea trials, she will sail to the French Riviera in preparation for the Monaco Yacht Show. The Sunrise 45m, is a full displacement, long-range motor yacht, with high-tensile steel hull and aluminum superstructure, powered with 2 MTU 12V2000M70 engines, built to Lloyd’s / MCA requirements. During a recent visit to the yard with Michael Payne of CNI Monaco, Africa’s owner stated how impressed he was with the overall quality of the construction and of the interior finish which actually exceeded his expectations, further confirming that building in Turkey does not have to involve compromising on quality. Herbert and Guillaume said: “In the midst of our excitement, we only regret that our friend Paolo Scanu will not be with us to witness and celebrate the completion of this project, which is so important in the history of our company”.
