The latest Phillipe Briand designed superyacht Bristolian is to be the largest composite sloop to be constructed in New Zealand to date. Yachting Developments successfully won the bid for construction which begun in February 2006.
At 120’ (37 metres) Bristolian is a lightweight, low profile sloop sleek in design with a black hull and ultra modern light foam core interior designed by Emma Tabone.
The yacht boasts an owners cabin, and two guest cabins forward, a split level saloon amidship and accommodation for five crew members aft. New age design features include two helm stations sheltered under futuristic looking black folding bimini pods allowing crew access to cabins. A plunge pool is tucked away on the forward deck, and she will sport a lifting keel. Southern Spars will be providing the carbon mast and furling boom, and sails will be Stratis laminated by Doyles Sailmakers.
