The general manager of the marina, Ignacio Erroz, stated: “we are very satisfied with the project’s good progress and the acceptance gained within the industry, thanks to our outstanding facilities and services and our strategic location”.
After 20 months of operations, Vilanova Grand Marina – Barcelona has become a benchmark marina within the international superyacht market. Its aim is to offer this type of vessels all the services they might need within its facilities. The construction of the technical area, which will add services of repair & refit to the current offer of moorings, is making good progress. The 8,000 square metre first phase has been completed and has initiated its activity, thanks to a 200 ton Travelift with cutting-edge technology built by the Italian company Cimolai S.P.A. The marina will manage the technical area, which will have the capacity to hoist yachts up to 200 tons in weight and will offer paint works and repairs. The second phase of the shipyard envisages the construction of two painting sheds and a 300 metre waiting dock, as well as an esplanade with an 800 ton Travelift. Once it is completed, Vilanova Grand Marina – Barcelona technical area will occupy an area of 30.000 square metres and will be equipped with the latest technology and services for all types of repair & refit projects to be carried out.
