As a result of Camper & Nicholsons’ on going effort to clean up Port Louis Marina, Grenada has a new and rare tourist attraction to add to it’s collection of wrecks that serve as dive sights for scuba divers. The sailing yacht Tiara was the subject of an armed robbery that took place late on the evening of Sunday the 24th of August. While moored off the coast of Corsica, a motorised tender approached the yacht and four masked, armed men boarded the vessel and ordered the Captain to handover the contents of the ship’s safe at gun point. At approximately 2340 (LT) on Sunday 24 August 2008 emergency response procedures were initiated on a YCO managed vessel located at anchor in Golfe de Porto Novo, Corsica (41°30’.3N 009°16’E). After leaving Auckland to a wonderful send-off from all the other yachts in the Viaduct Basin loudly sounding their horns, we headed north. The first 36 hours were wet and cold motoring into head seas, which the Dragon handled admirably.
