New Trinity megayachts are equipped with SiMON integrated systems
Three new megayachts, which are being commissioned this month by Trinity Yachts, have been equipped with state-of-the-art SiMON integrated monitoring, control, alarm and security systems supplied by Palladium Technologies.
“We’re very proud of our outstanding relationship as the preferred supplier of vessel-monitoring software for Trinity Yachts,” said Mike Blake, president and CEO of Palladium Technologies. “As the largest U.S. builder of custom yachts, Trinity is widely recognized as an industry leader in megayacht technology. We work carefully with Trinity’s design, engineering and production teams to create a solution that meets the special requirements of each boat’s owner.”
The three new vessels – MY Norwegian Queen, MY Wheels and MY Mary P – are expected to make their public debut at the 2008 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
MY Norwegian Queen is a 164-foot aluminum tri-deck motoryacht with interiors designed by Evan Marshall. The SiMON installation comprises four fully functional monitoring/alarm stations, along with alarm acknowledgement panels in the pilothouse, crew area, engineer’s cabin and engine room. Over 500 sensor points are being monitored, including the main engines, generators, security and watertight doors, HVAC, tanks, bilges, pumps and valves, fire systems, hydraulics, electrical AC/DC system and air compressors. In addition, Palladium has designed and installed their integrated helm and navigation light panels for this yacht.
MY Wheels, a 164-foot aluminum tri-deck motoryacht, is getting a similar treatment, with a SiMON computer in the pilothouse, and LCD touch-screen computers in the crew area, engineer’s cabin and engine room. SiMON is monitoring more than 300 sensor points, including engine, generators, DC power, switchboards, tanks, bilges, security doors, steering, control valves, smoke and fire. SiMON also provides automatic transmission of SMS text messages alerting the captain and owner of any onboard alarms.
MY Mary P is Trinity’s largest sportfishing yacht to date. The 122-foot aluminum hull vessel is being fitted with four fully functional SiMON workstations, including a computer in the pilothouse with interfaces to the navigation suite and touch-screen LCD computers in the engine room, master stateroom and captain’s cabin. The SiMON system will monitor 150 sensor points, including the engines, generators, switchboards, tanks, bilges, pumps and steering. Palladium is also supplying a complete SiMON-C security system with six CCTV cameras overseeing all doors and hatches as well as sensors for intrusion detection and glass breakage.
