Jon Morris joins Marine Results as partner

Jon Morris has joined International spar and rigging consultants Marine Results as a Partner. Jon, who was most recently Technical Director at Formula Yacht Spars, has specialised in masts and rigging for the last 14 years.

At Marine Results he will use his vast knowledge of composite and aluminium mast building technology to meet the demands of superyachts and grand prix racing yachts for a full-service and specialist rigging service.

He joins the team, whose head office is in the UK with a further facility in the South of France, to offer services including full mast service, rigging, hydraulics, NDT Inspections, rope work, certified lift equipment, mooring systems and height access equipment. Marine Results also operates a worldwide service.

Jon was also previously Rigging Manager for Hood Yacht Spars. He has managed the build process of Volvo, America’s Cup and numerous super-yacht spar projects from the design stage through to final sail trials. He is a qualified Navtec hydraulic service agent.

During the 32nd Americas Cup, Jon worked on the rig programmes for both Shosholoza and UIT Germany. During the two most recent Volvo Ocean Races he worked with Ericsson, Telefonica and Team Russia.

Jon continues to sail at many international regattas and has previously sailed for the British team in the 2003 Admirals Cup, Telstra Cup and Key West. He is found forward of the mast at superyacht and maxi events throughout the year.

At Marine Results Jon joins a growing business which has worked on several significant projects recently including the conditional survey of the 88m Maltese Falcon. Other recent and ongoing commissions include work on Hyperion, La Cattiva, Moonbird, Antara, Salute, Mirabella V, Hetairos and Georgia as well as the CW44s (12m) and numerous other racing and cruising superyacht rigs.
