Royal Huisman is delighted to announce that is has exchanged contracts for three important new commissions, one of which – The Windjammer Project – can be described as truly exceptional. The Windjammer Project (74m / 243’), the Spirit of Tradition Ketch (47.8m / 157’) and the Classic Cutter Rigged Sloop (36.6m / 120’) are all designed by Dykstra & Partners Naval Architects.
Alongside these fresh challenges, the yard team is excited by the imminent – and much anticipated – launch of the 58m / 190.4’ Ron Holland designed ketch Ethereal, with interior and exterior details by Pieter Beeldsnijder; and the early 2009 launch of Hanuman – the technically advanced recreation of the Super-J class yacht Endeavour II (42.1m / 138.1’) with naval architecture by Dykstra & Partners and interior by Pieter Beeldsnijder.
Construction work is also gathering pace on the 57.5m / 188.6’ Redman Whiteley Dixon designed ketch Twizzle. Naval Architecture is by Dubois, whilst décor artist Todhunter Earle is working in parallel with Redman Whitely Dixon to define a very unique client driven interior; concept design is well advanced on the 43.3m / 142’ Germán Frers performance ketch Gitana, with interior by Rhoades Young. Add to that the imminent completion of the new central hall, purpose-designed to house bristling new Project Management offices for the client representatives, a full service canteen and a centralized computerized stock room, and it can be seen that the yard’s 400-strong team are enjoying a busy time – likely to continue well into the foreseeable future!

This has been clearly demonstrated by the unique five-stateroom SL104 planing yacht, that will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) this week. Read More
