Sultan Marine Inc. has announced the launch of facilities for large yacht building and finishing at its new yard at Tavşan Burun, 30 minutes drive from Bodrum in Turkey.
The new facility includes build capabilities for superyachts, a 1250 sq m furniture factory, accommodation and mess facilities for 20 workers, reception area, two drawing offices and a board room. Concrete-block roads, on-site security and fencing complete the facility.
The furniture factory produces both hard and soft furnishings, with a team of craftsmen working to international standards to deliver interior cabinetry, veneer work, woodwork, soft furnishings, upholstery and window dressing. Cabin interior and designs are mocked up at the factory for viewing by clients prior to installation. Furniture for Sultan Marine’s 50 metre super schooner, Great Nautilus, due for launch 2009, is already well into production. High quality wood veneer finishes bring an impressive style to this authoritative yacht, designed by Evan K. Marshall.
Chairman of Sultan Marine, Dr. David Price Williams, comments, “This is an exciting development for Sultan Marine as it gives us immediate capabilities for new build projects as well as tight control over the quality of finish and production time for every element of large yacht construction. We have a superb team in place and are looking forward to welcoming clients to our new facility in Tavşan Burun.”
In addition to the 50m superschooner, Sultan Marine Superyachts has also been commissioned, in partnership with sister yard A-Marin, to deliver the first of a semi-production series of 28 metre aluminium-hulled sailing yachts capable of ocean voyaging, an exciting new concept for Kestrel Superyachts, designed by the internationally acclaimed designer Ron Holland.
Further projects are currently under negotiation with buyers, private clients and brokers and include the construction of a series of motor yachts under 50 metres and a 42 metre motor yacht.
Sanlorenzo has a reputation of offering an unrivalled level of customization, which results in the fact that there are never two Sanlorenzo Yachts that are the same. This has been clearly demonstrated by the unique five-stateroom SL104 planing yacht, that will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) this week. Read More
