Superyacht 360° on fire in port of Nice

Firefighters in Nice have responded to a fire on board the 2003 built superyacht 360°. The fire seems to have damaged the bridge deck of the 47 metre yacht. The yacht is docked on the east side of the port, and dozens of firefighters are at the scene. Local reports confirm that the mayor of Nice is also at the scene of the fire. Read More

Statement by Burgess on sinking of superyacht Yogi

Burgess confirms, with regret, reports that the 60 metre motor yacht Yogi sank 19 nautical miles off the Island of Skyros on Friday morning 17 February. All 8 crew were safely rescued and there was no loss of life. No passengers were on board the yacht at the time of the incident. The cause of the sinking has not been identified and confirmed. Following last friday's unfortunate events in Greece, Proteksan Turquoise, builders of the 60 metre MY Yogi, have released an official statement. Superyacht Yogi sinks in Greece

The 60.20 metre Yogi, built in 2011, has sank to the East off the coast of Skyros in Greece, in bad weather. All on board were evacuated from the yacht by rescue helicopters. The ABS classed superyacht had a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and complied with the MCA LY2. She was twin 1,750hp Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines. Read More

Once the world's fastest vessel to cross the Atlantic, the 67 metre Destriero nowadays seems to have lost her grace, laid up in Germany, where one of our readers recently took this photo of her. The vessel was originally fitted with triple GE LM1600 gas turbines. Destriero crossed the atlantic in 1992, in just two days. Read More

Videos: Seven yachts destroyed in Alimos Marina fire

Seven yachts, including at least one superyacht, the 31.5 metre Gioe, as well as an older model Admiral in the 30 metre region, were destroyed in a raging fire last friday in Alimos Marina in Greece. A local newspaper reports that the fire is being treated as arson by police. No injuries were reported. Read More
