The 82m Andrew Winch designed Sarafsa, also known as Project 54, made a full appearance this morning, after staying docked in the yard’s basin for over 2 months. Conceived by a Middle Eastern owner, who previously owned a 54m Amels, she is the second 70m+ yacht launched by Devonport following the launch of the 77m Samar in 2006. Read More

Last Friday, late in the afternoon, the Lürssen Bardenfleth yard launched the 60m Vive La Vie (project Bounty Hunter). A few days after her launch she was transported to the Lürssen Lemwerder facility, where she will be completed. Delivery is scheduled for the summer of 2008. Vive La Vie is designed by Espen Oeino with an interior by Art Line. Read More

In the morning of Saturday April 19, 2008 Codecasa launched the 65m Main (hull C 115) from the Codecasa Tre facility in Viareggio, Italy. This new Codecasa 65 reflects the owner's idea of the way one should live the sea. This is evidenced by the fact that the owner cooperated with his personal designers, Ortelli, and with Codecasa's designers Della Role. Read More

Yesterday saw the launch of the new Oceanco Anastasia, hull number Y703. The 75m blue hulled yacht, with interior and exterior design by Sam Sorgiovanni, will be delivered to her owners in May 2008, right in time for the Mediterranean season. This morning Hakvoort launched the 45 metre motor yacht My Turst. She is not only build by a complete Dutch team, but also the first yacht to comply to the Dutch CCV rules. Feadship Royal De Vries Scheepsbouw launched the first of its SL39 series today, Ocean Mercury. Ocean Mercury, hull 675, is designed by De Voogt Naval Architects and features a Terence Disdale interior. The yacht has a full beam owner's cabin, as well as a full beam bridge deck lounge. Christened on Saturday March 1st, Archimedes made a short and shy debut on March 4th, when Royal Van Lent installed her launching cranes. Today, Royal Van Lent added her mast, and relaunched Archimedes, and this time, she is here to stay. Last Tuesday we announced the launch of the 133m hull 681 from Peters Schiffbau in Wewelsfleth. During the construction the project was known as May, but Lloyds Register revealed her final name, Al Mirqab. The yacht, with IMO number 1009223, will be classed with Lloyds Register and she will fly the Cayman Islands ensign. Read More

The Pula based shipyard Avangard Yachts (formerly Heli Yachts) launched the 50m Avangard II at the end of March. Her exterior lines come from the drawing board of Frank Mulder, while the interior is designed by the Rome based design studio Lazzarini & Pickering. In 2005 Abeking & Rasmussen, the famous German shipyard located on the banks of the river Weser, contracted it’s largest yacht ever, the 78.43 meter hull 6478. Ordered by the US owner of the 57m Abeking Excellence III, the project was named Excellence IV. However in 2007, while in the final months of completion, her owner sold the yacht and last Tuesday she was launched as Eminence. Read More
