Sycara IV, a classically-styled custom 151′-03″ Fantail Motor Yacht, was launched this past Saturday in front of a crowd of well wishers. Her owner, family and friends watched as Sycara IV was gently lowered into the Manitowoc River by Burger’s 500mt Marine Travelift shortly after she was christened by Elsie Catena.
Sycara IV represents Burger’s continued commitment to designing and building custom yachts that meet their owner’s specific requirements and desires. Styled after the classic yachts of the 1920’s, Sycara IV brings together the design talents of Naval Architect Bruce King who developed her hull lines and Yacht Designer Ken Freivokh who worked with the owner and the Burger Design Team to develop the layout and incorporate the intricate, period-appropriate, interior and exterior details that were then fabricated by Burger’s craftspeople. As a result, Sycara IV is sure to recapture the splendor, grace and romance of the golden years of yachting.
After her final fit-out and sea trials Sycara IV will travel east through the Great Lakes and then south where she is sure to be the hit of the 2009 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
