Perini Navi’s P2 sailing off St Barth

Perini Navi launched the 38 metre fast sloop superyacht P2 on Saturday June 14th in 2008. She was at that time the first Perini Navi designed by Philippe Briand. The hull is constructed in Sealium, an aluminium alloy which provides greater mechanical strength and improved corrosion characteristics, while reducing weight. In racing trim, S/Y P2 displaces approximately 138 tonnes. Twenty nine tonnes of this is in her fin-and-bulb lifting keel whose draft reduces from a maximum of 5.50m to a minimum of 3.50m – ideal for allowing entrance to smaller harbours and shallow anchorages. She is seen here sailing next to the world's largest yacht, Eclipse.
