The Amels superyacht Ilona in London
Ilona was built in 2004 at the Amels yard in Makkum, Holland, to a design by Redman Whitely Dixon. When she was launched, she measured 73.7 metres, and was the first large motoryacht to have a helicopter hangar in the main aft deck. It provided a safe storage space for the delicate helicopter, protecting it from seawater spray and the elements. However, earlier this year the yacht was refitted, and the helicopter landing area was removed, and was changed into a swimming pool. Her top deck was extended, and a helipad was created on top of that. You can read more about those changes here.
