The 2008 Perini Navi fast sloop superyacht P2 is designed by Philippe Briand. The hull is constructed in Sealium, an aluminium alloy which provides greater mechanical strength and improved corrosion characteristics, while reducing weight. In racing trim, P2 displaces approximately 138 tonnes. Twenty nine tonnes of this is in her fin-and-bulb lifting keel whose draft reduces from a maximum of 5.50m to a minimum of 3.50m – ideal for allowing entrance to smaller harbours and shallow anchorages. The yard is currently building a sistership to P2, which you can read more about here.
