Northrop and Johnson Luxury Collection is happy to announce the addition of sales broker, Rick Weisenberger to the San Diego office. With over 35 years in the yachting industry, Rick is a familiar face on the docks and is well-respected for his knowledge, work ethic and attention to detail in every project and transaction.

A Southern California native, Rick spent his early years in competitive sailing, yacht delivery, marine hardware distribution as well as yacht repair and rigging. During this time, he earned a degree in English at Cal State Long Beach with additional graduate studies at UCLA. Ultimately, he managed one of the region’s largest yacht commissioning departments before moving into new boat sales and brokerage in 1985. He has also been licensed as a broker in Florida since 1996. Focusing on the large yacht market, Rick served as a broker for Ardell Yacht and Ship during most of the 1990’s and, most recently, a six year term in the original office of Fraser Yachts in Newport Beach, CA.

Today, he is a seasoned yacht broker with nearly 25 years of service to his clients. Through several decades, Rick has travelled extensively in Europe and North America, attending important boat shows and visiting significant shipyards. As a result, he is well aware of the rapidly changing laws and codes that affect large yacht pedigree, safety and value.

In recent years, his sales include a 120’ (37m) Christensen in California, a 118’ (36m) Hatteras in Florida and a 131’ (40m) Hakvoort in Italy; all tri-deck motoryachts. Rick’s formula for success is simple: “Work hard. Be genuine and truthful. Always put your client’s interests first. The rest will take care of itself.” Rick has been married 30 years and resides with his wife and two children in Orange County, Calif.

Proficient in power and sail, brokerage and new construction, Rick is eager to share his talents with buyers and sellers alike in the world of high-end yachting.
