The Royal Huisman Hyperion off Palma de Mallorca
Hyperion was built by Royal Huisman for well known yachtsman Jim Clark. When he took delivery of the 90 metre Royal Huisman Athena in 2004 he sold Hyperion. The 45 metre yacht was designed by German Frers and Pieter Beeldsnijder, who was also responsible for her interior. According to her charter broker, Edmiston, Hyperion is dedicated to fast sailing and relaxation – in that order. Her ‘brain’ is a 500 billion byte computer linked to 59 kilometres of wiring, controlling 13,000 square feet of sail on a 59 metre carbon rig. The yacht's charter rates start at $ 90,000 per week.
