Sunreef Yachts has announced the opening of a new section in the shipyard enabling the construction of external custom projects of large yachts, both sail and power. “This new in-house service has been tailored in response to frequent enquiries from design studios as well as individual clients seeking a professional and experienced shipyard to perform their custom-made projects in advanced composite materials or aluminium using innovative production techniques, carried out by an experienced workforce – all at a very competitive price,” explains Nicolas Lapp, CYS Intl. President. ”We are looking forward to cooperating with all design studios and naval architects alike to be able to cater for the custom-designed projects of their Clients,” adds Lapp. With over 35 yachts launched to date and another 8 under construction, Sunreef Yachts has proven its advanced skills in yacht building and high-class exterior and interior finish.
CYS International provides access to all Gdańsk shipyard facilities and infrastructure, including a floating crane up to 300 tons, all workshops located under one roof to facilitate fast and reactive production decisions and any required modifications as well as, perhaps most importantly, a professional team of experienced craftsmen, specialists and technicians always delivering stunning and state-of-the-art accomplishments. The shipyard also provides comprehensive mechanical, electrical and electronic services, in-house original high-tech systems as well as a professional design support base. We also provide warm and dry storage space ensuring the safe and appropriate safeguarding of materials during the production of the yachts, which is a great help and assistance to any captain and project manager.
Stringent internal quality control systems have been implemented at every phase of the construction process. CYS Intl. harnesses the best and proven techniques for the advanced composite and aluminium constructions of the custom-designed yachts ranging in size from 60 to over 200 feet, both sail and power. The shipyard also performs all kind of refits.
CYS Intl. uses top quality, highly recognised types of aluminium alloy such as Sealium and Alustar, among others, which have become the international industry standard for cruising yachts. At present, two aluminium super catamarans 102 and 114 feet in length are being built at the shipyard.
The shipyard also constructs yachts using advanced composites. Depending on the project, vinylester and epoxy resins are used coupled with glass, carbon or Kevlar fibre with core materials like balsa, PVC foam or honeycomb. Nevertheless, the shipyard is open to using any other composite materials requested by the Client, performing resistance, durability, weight and quality tests required by the industry performed by qualified specialists in real conditions. CYS Intl. also provides advanced composite hardware building services such as mast, boom, crossbeam and rudder stocks.
