Presented at the most recent Genoa Boat Show, the Admiral Yachts flagship Aqva received a very warm reception by the press and those in attendance. The 40 meter Aqva, also received a warm reception by the Italian magazine Vela & Motore, whose editors gave this Admiral 40 their annual “Superyacht of the Year” award.
Special features of the Admiral 40 are in her stern hatch and side garage. Through innovative engineering and design, the stern hatch opens as a swim platform over the sea, whilst a side garage hosts the tender.
Built in light aluminum, the Admiral 40 was designed with contemporary, clean and elegant lines by Luca Dini, and with performance in mind. Her two MTU 3,650 horsepower diesel engines provide this superyacht with an impressive maximum speed of 31 knots. Additionally, the Admiral 40 is built to comply with the American Bureau of Shipping’s Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service, AMS requirements.
The main aft deck of the Admiral 40 is the initial reception area for guests as they arrive onboard, styled with two smaller wooden tables which, when necessary, can be combined into one table. From here, and through an automatic sliding door, guests enter the main salon and dining area.
The salon features natural teak floor with plush crème-colored carpeting in the center. The side walls and the console, which divide the salon and dining area, are crafted with green oak and the overheads are in white leather. The main entertaining area features a white hemp Minotti corner sofa and a table in Wengé wood to create a pure and elegant atmosphere. Additionally, the area features a plasma television that can be hidden away in a side cupboard.
This superyacht’s main dining area is highlighted by a Wengé large dining table. The side walls are crafted to conceal storage compartments without knobs or handles. To access these storage areas very simply requires the door to be pushed in and the clasp releases, a storage feature repeated throughout Aqva.
From here, and through a starboard corridor, guests reach the owner’s stateroom, which includes an en-suite bath and an office, featuring a commanding leather-topped desk. This stateroom carries the greek oak and crème-carpeting theme. The stateroom features textured leather furnishings and free standing custom-built furniture. The central wall has glass shelving and the plasma TV. The bath entry consists of his and hers walk-in closets, fashioned in white afyon Namibia marble and glazed glass.
Returning to the main salon, and now passing through the port-side corridor, guests find the well-equipped Boffi aluminum galley. From the galley there is access to the crew’s quarters. These quarters sleeps seven crewmembers comfortably and consists of captain’s cabin, three cabins with bunk beds, a large kitchen, dinette, and a bathroom area.
From the main deck, guests may also access the bridge, which is also styled in anthracite-colored leather. The overhead is all glass and can be shaded with electric blinds. The navigational console is equipped with the most sophisticated on board instruments. From the bridge is the upper deck which has a large flybridge in teak and second steering-gear. There is also a sun deck with two chaise-lounges and an enormous sun-bed sofa.
The lower deck features the guest suites. At the bow there are two guest suites, the starboard with a double bed and the port with twin beds. Furnishings are similar to the anthracite-colored leather theme of the owner’s stateroom. Guest suites are equipped with wardrobe and beige Botticino marble bathroom with shower. Two additional double cabins are at the stern with cream coloured Marfil marble bathroom with glass wash-basin.
For entertaining, the stern hatch opens into a platform onto the sea and becomes a comfortable area for guests, and features an ice-maker, fridge, sink, and a small shower. The state-of-the-art engine room includes: 2 MTU 16V 4000 M90 diesel engines, each 3,650 HP, ALFA LAVAL diesel oil purifier, HAMANN black water treatment in accordance with the USCG regulations, reverse osmosis purifier, water softener plant and bilge water separator.
