Superyacht of the Week: The brand new Italcraft 90
The recently launched Italcraft 90, is a welcome addition to the growing fleet of open sport boats. The open boat concept, prevalently conceived to enjoy the outdoor areas, in the past few years is tending towards a progressive limitation of the open spaces, almost in contrast to its original intention.
The main goal of this new project, therefore, was to create a yacht that would be an alternative to the numerous open crafts presently on the market.
All designing efforts concentrated on maximizing the expansion of the craft’s three open areas: astern with a spacious cockpit furnished with three large sofa-chaise lounges, at bow with a veritable living room, complete with an ample “C” shaped sofa and double sundeck, and on the upper part of the superstructure, with an exclusive sunbathing area.
Each of these areas represent autonomous and independent areas, for the privacy of the guests on board.
The superstructures constitute another important and identifiable element; here the volumes are emphasized through a knowing use of transparencies created by a glass veranda. The dining area, at the centre of this windowed structure, may be opened completely towards the back and sides for a total plein-air setting.
On the ceiling of the stern living-room, in correspondence to the table centre, a circular window permits natural lighting from above, while at bow double sliding doors allow air and light to filter into the living area.
Below deck, two symmetrical staircases lead from the bridge, on the left side, to the four cabins each with private bathrooms while, on the right side, they give access to the large kitchen and its connecting crew area.
This area includes two double cabins and a private bathroom. The main-deck allows access to the sundeck in this interesting arrangement that includes a rollaway staircase that, when not in use, enters back into the signal mast area, thus clearing the cockpit.
At the moment the boat # 2 is under construction in the Italcraft shipyard in Gaeta (LT). The Italcraft yard, since 2005 part of the InRizzardi groep, was founded by Sergio and Mario Sonnino Sorisio in 1955. The yard focuses on fast motoryachts, ranging from 11.85 to 31 meters.
