Superyacht of the Week: The 43.3 metre Latitude
One of the latest launches on display at this year’s MYBA Charter show in Genoa this month, was the 43.50 metre superyacht Latitude. Latitude was built at Acico Yachts (formerly Dutch Yacht Builders, recently taken over by one of their clients) in The Netherlands to a design of Cor D Rover, and is available for charter through Camberley International Inc.
Latitude sports a round-bilge semi-displacement hull designed by Van Oossanen & Associates. This allows for the combination of very economic sailing at displacement speeds between 10 and 15 knots, while her twin MTU 16V2000 M93 engines still have the juice (1790 kW each) to push the boat to 20.7 knots. There is no hump speed - the luxury yacht is equally at ease at all speeds in the range.
A lot of attention has been paid to guest comfort. The noise level recorded in the master cabin at 18 knots is only 55 dB(A). Her Naiad fin stabilizers do an excellent job reducing the roll, both underway and at anchor. The concept design, general arrangement and exterior styling were developed by Cor de Rover in close consultation with the owners. The white hull and superstructure are marked by an exciting play of shadow lines and both convex and concave surfaces.
Latitude’s elegant and inviting interior designed with the input of the well known Dutch interior designer Piet Boon of Piet Boon Design, features tainted oak floors and white leather and stingray leather in the public spaces.
The main deck salon features an unconventional arrangement, with the dining area is located aft, creating a lovely indoor-outdoor dining experience for guests. The interior has a contemporary look, with a combination of wood, fabrics and leather accented by the occasional splash of color.
The yacht also offers several inviting al-fresco dining options, the favourite is likely to be the bridge deck aft, offering beautiful views, and plenty of privacy when moored stern-to.
The main aft deck features modern exterior furniture from Paola Lenti, as well as woven Canasta chairs from B&B Italia.
The sundeck has a centrally located Jacuzzi, sunpads, shaded by Slim-lined parasols from Tuuci, three comfortable sunloungers, a fully equipped bar and a removable DJ pedestal, perfect for a summertime party.
The owner's and guest accommodation comprises of five staterooms, with in addition a sixth convertible stateroom on the upper deck, for a total of 12 people. The owner's stateroom is located on the main-deck forward, and features a full beam bathroom accessible through a double entrance. The bathroom includes a modern and highly inviting oval bathtub and a spacious walk-in rain shower.
On the lower deck are two large full beam VIP staterooms, a unique feature in this size range in addition to two guest cabins all with en-suites. Both VIP bathrooms feature freestanding bathtubs, another unique feature.
The multiple purpose skylounge aft of the bridge has full bathroom facilities, and can be converted into the yacht’s sixth stateroom. When not in use as a stateroom, the room can be used as a gym, or second salon, depending on the guests’ needs.
Latitude is currently being offered for sale at € 17,500,000, and is available for charter Western & Eastern Mediterranean starting at €145,000 per week.
