In the run-up to every major boat show, there are always a few special projects that generate considerably more buzz than others, whether it be for their groundbreaking design, state of the art technology or simply because there is a great curiosity to see these particular vessels unveiled for the very first time. Arianna, Delta Marine's brand new 50 metre superyacht, is one of these greatly anticipated new launches, preparing for a spectacular debut at this year's edition of the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. With the Delta Design Group signing up for Arianna's design and engineering, she was bound to be a spectacular superyacht from her first draft. She will be made available for charter right after her maiden voyage, undoubtedly becoming a popular charter vessel.
Arianna was fully developed around the owner's initial vision, which was cultured, crafted and transformed into a superyacht that is both ground-breaking and classic, boasting a number of exciting features and impressive stats. For starters, she is the largest, all composite 50 metres full displacement yacht in the world, boasting more interior volume than any other vessel of her length.
The owner's original brief was to materialise a superyacht that is a floating retreat for a family comfortable with life at sea, where the ambiance is informal and with an emphasis on gorgeous, rare luxury woods. This has resulted in a gentle, tropical atmosphere, with warmth and sensitivity, a true island ambiance that is both contemporary and classic. Aside from the overall character, the owner's specific wishes have resulted in several surprises with regards to her layout, which is significantly different compared to more traditional vessels.
The warm and casual ambiance is mainly the result of the application of gorgeous wood species throughout, such as Wenge and Koa, combined with subtle lighting schemes, ample natural light flowing through all areas and plush carpeting and upholstery. One the most important design elements, aside from colour, is texture, with touches of natural grain and fabric patterns breathing life into every single room. This key feature brings a vibrant quality to the overall design scheme, turning Arianna into a warm and cozy retreat.
The island atmosphere, often Balinese-inspired, can be felt on every deck, in every interior and exterior space throughout. And with a considerable emphasis on space, this means that guests feel an pleasant sense of freedom everywhere onboard. Every area is welcoming, intimate and spacious, making everybody feel at home instantly.
The main aft deck is a big, comfortable and welcoming environment, with a large curved sofa and surrounding chairs and tables. A perfect area for a variety of occasions, ranging from intimate get-togethers to after dinner cocktails. Upon entering the adjacent main saloon, Arianna's Polynesian-inspired atmosphere can be instantly experienced. One the major eye-catchers here is the centrally placed coffee table, which is a dark, tropical hardwood object, smoothly polished yet maintaining a naturally edgy beauty that sets the tone for this room. Around this centre piece there is a collection of inviting, wicker clad armchairs with clean white upholstery and a cozy sofa, forming the main lounge area. Big surrounding windows provide large amounts of natural light flowing in and every detail throughout blends in to form the comforting, friendly Polynesian-inspired style.
From floor to ceiling, furnishing to upholstery, and artworks to accessories, the whole design breathes the fresh and warm ambiance of a tropical island retreat. Fore, the lounge flows into a large formal dining room designed around a large, dark wooden table that gives the space it's warm character. This single slab table, with naturally unfinished edges, really sets the tone here.
Connected to the saloon by the main entrance lobby, with the central staircase and an elevator connecting all four decks, the whole fore main deck consists of a spacious and private owner's area. Here, a lobby, separate head and combined library/office space starboard side offer a private and informal working environment. Again, emphasis was put on various luxury wood species, allowing natural textures to blend and form a varied palette of structure and colour. Large windows ensure the flow of light, making this feel like a hospitable and intimate working area. Port side, a fully equipped gym and generous sauna, plus separate head, turn these owner's quarters into a large retreat for working, relaxation and exercise.
This is a different take on a traditional layout, combining functions in a whole new way, personalising one's onboard experience. What is most interesting about these quarters, is that the owner's stateroom can be found on the upper aft deck. Here, a full beam stateroom, flooded with natural light from three sides, perfectly combines with a spaciously set up private aft deck and luxurious en suite bathroom. A warm and light design transforms the suite's ambiance into a private cabana on a tropical island, with great vistas aft and a cozy, private character. The en suite has a large separate shower area and tub, two separate toilets areas, his and hers sinks and directly accesses one of the suite's two walk-in wardrobes.
Centrally located, the owner's stately lounge has an intimate atmosphere in similar style to the main saloon, with a design reminiscent of a luxury tropical hideaway. Right next to this owner's lounge, an extra extension of the owner's quarters in the form of a big twin suite can be found, including en suite bathroom and extra wardrobe. This extra stateroom turns these quarters into a perfectly designed arrangement for guests with children or accompanying family members.
The lower deck hosts an additional four guests suites, all spacious, light and with a warm, gentle ambiance. Three doubles and one twin suite, each guest stateroom has a big en suite bathroom, with either a large tub or a big shower area. The big wardrobes turn these suites into luxurious, spacious and cozy quarters, welcoming every guest in Arianna's characteristic friendly disposition.
A lush sun deck boasts a perfect collection of amenities, offering guests everything they could wish for. The large Jacuzzi with surrounding pads and sun loungers form a great set up for guests wanting to enjoy a relaxing dip while soaking up some sun. With the central dining table close by, ample al fresco lunches and dinners can be enjoyed, surrounded by panoramic views and enjoying the shade from the overhanging radar mast. With a lounging corner and fully equipped bar fore, the sun deck becomes a large, luxurious and versatile area for every guest, assuring morning to night entertainment and enjoyment.
Arianna is a particularly family-friendly superyacht, with a warm and cozy design, spacious interiors and exteriors, plus a complete collection of amenities and many appealing features. Her well thought out layout gives her a flexible functionality, successfully aiming at companies of varied formation. With her size and volume, she is a perfect charter superyacht, built to travel and explore the world's seas, with her transoceanic cruising capabilities.
