Last week 12 superyachts raced against each other in the bay of Palma at the Superyacht Cup Ulysse Nardin. The yachts ranged from the 24.5m Nimrod to the 47m Scheherezade. Other participating yachts included the Royal Huisman's Hyperion and Gliss, the Jongert's Ameena and Scorpione dei Mari and the spectacular Senso One (ex Mari-Cha IV). 
Despite threats of a tornado and serious downpours dampening the afternoon of the opening day of the 12th annual Superyacht Cup in Palma de Mallorca, the skippers came ashore safely, ready for action. The clouds cleared just in time for opening celebrations held at the scenic Castillo de San Carlos, overlooking the fleet below. 
Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) presented its 2008 regatta calendar to press and guests gathered in Milan’s Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology. Following last year’s 40th anniversary celebrations, 2008 marks the beginning of a new phase in the Club’s development in which expansion and internationalization are high on the agenda.
