Following our initial news announcement regarding the superyacht support vessel Sputnik, we received numerous messages with further details on the ship.
Sputnik was indeed built in Malaysia, however as an offshore supply vessel. A few years ago she was purchased by her current owner who brought her to Fincantieri Yachts, who besides new-builds (134 and 140 metre motor yachts) also under take yacht refit and conversion works.
Following her complete conversion, Fincantieri Yachts turned Sputnik into one of the most versatile, flexible, strong and comfortable luxury support vessels, which pays particular attention to eco-sensibility and environmental sustainability.
Sputnik, the support vessel of the 72 metre Lürssen Queen K, does not have any guest accommodation onboard; however she does feature a Spa area and an owner’s saloon, which have been designed by Igor Lobanov.
Tenders include a Wally Tender, a beautiful wooden limo tender from Serenella and a nimbus tender. Sputnik also has a full commercial heli deck and the ability to refuel heli’s as well.
