Excellent billfishing waters are a mere three miles from the entrance channel of Marina Cap Cana on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. White marlin have already begun biting with recent catches reported less than two miles from the main entrance channel and will continue to swim in the azure Caribbean Sea through June – just in time for blue marlin season.

Fishing for prized blue marlin is superb from June until the end of July. Sailfish become abundant in August - and grouper, Dorado and snapper are caught by sport fishermen year-round.

During late spring and summer, the fishing is great and the weather is perfect at Marina Cap Cana, which recently announced new Summer Sport Fishing wet slip rental rates for May 1 through Aug. 14 – prime time for big-game sport fishing in the region. Marina Cap Cana is strategically located on the Mona Passage, the body of water between Hispaniola and Puerto Rico where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea, creating ideal big-game fishing grounds. In an effort to attract national and international anglers, Marina Cap Cana has lowered its dockage rates for the coming billfish season.
