Fire under control at Benetti yard in Livorno

Benetti has announced that at 10.30am this morning, a fire broke out inside the shipyard in Livorno. The fire has damaged the construction of a superyacht under construction. The yard has not yet released details which vessel has been damaged.The yard's own security team, and a local fire-fighting team responded quickly to the emergency, and worked together according to applicable regulations to put out the fire. In January I visited the Italian shipyard ISA Yachts in Ancona. The yard signed three new contracts between mid-2011 and early 2012, and I had the opportunity to tour two of these projects, the ISA 41m Classic and the 66m Granturismo. Construction of new Mulder yard nearing completion

Work on Mulder shipyard facilities in Zoeterwoude Rijndijk is nearing completion. The large overhead doors were installed a few weeks ago and the first dry dock is now in use. Fire at McMullen & Wing causes significant damage to 50 metre Star Fish.

In the early hours of Sunday morning 12 August 2012, fire fighters were called to McMullen & Wing’s premises in Auckland New Zealand to find the 50 metre steel/aluminium motor yacht Star Fish ablaze in the shipyard’s largest construction hall. 4000 Ton dry dock ready for 2010 at Derecktor

This spring Derecktor Shipyards will put its’ newly expanded dry dock to work.
