The Brazilian based shipyard MCP Yachts have announced the signing of a new contract for a 42.5 metre semi displacement aluminium superyacht, the Hemispere 140. The yacht, designed by MCP and Vripack, will have transatlantic capabilities, and will accommodate 10 guests. The yacht’s hull and superstructure are made of aluminium, and the vessel has a Lloyd’s Register classification. She is powered by twin 1825 HP Caterpillar C32ACERT diesels, and she will have a top speed of 19 knots. Her projected construction time is 24 months, from the keel laying to the launch date.
The Research Vessel (RV) Pegaso just made her debut in Monaco and gave the world a glimpse into her Global Mission for Marine Conservation. Her oceanographic capabilities are impressive: 5-person Diver Lockout submarine, Ice Class notation, 10,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, wet/dry laboratory, and separate scientist quarters. Read More
