The new French based shipyard 30 Mètres Plus Yachts is currently working on a skysail powered superyacht. Micheal Healey, the inventor, told SuperyachtTimes.com that they are finishing the engineering for the first skysail powered superyacht, Valbella. The construction of Valbella should start in the 4th quarter of 2007.

Valbella will have a length of 40m and the hull will be constructed in aluminium and covered with non tropical wood. The kite (skysail) which will power Valbella by wind is controlled by computer. Because the yacht is powered by means of a special kite, there will be no vibrations, noise or lines to handle.

The shipyard of 30 Mètres Plus Yachts is situated in the historical city of Rochefort sur Mer, France. This city was selected to build the ultra modern facility for the construction of yachts up to 100 meters.
