Donald Starkey Designs presents the Kingship 156 in Monaco
Wednesday, 8 September 2010
Kingship has established themselves over many years as the foremost high quality yacht builders in Asia. In 2010, Kingship have had the opportunity to collaborate with long time friend Mr Donald Starkey and well established Azure Naval Architects in the design development of this new 156 ft (47.5m) yacht to be built under the 500 ton rules, making crewing of the yacht in that and other regions more manageable.
Within these constraints however, the yacht lacks nothing that a 50+ metre yacht might have, being capable of sleeping 12 in 6 suites, having generous lounges and open covered deck spaces for entertaining, all accessible from a central staircase up to and including the part shaded sun deck with a bar/dining facility being served by a food lift and open Jacuzzi on the forward sunning area.
The styling is a break from the more recent yachts Kingship has created as it features a plumb bow and generous circular port lights on the forward main deck, the intention to evoke the feeling of a modern “gentleman’s yacht”.
Azure Naval Architects from the Netherlands has put maximum effort into the hull and superstructure lines plan to create the maximum interior space within the 500GT restriction. New borders have been set whilst the optimized hull form will guarantee maximum comfort at sea. Advanced structure and system design, according to the latest Class Society requirements, are fully absorbed within the design.
Sanlorenzo has a reputation of offering an unrivalled level of customization, which results in the fact that there are never two Sanlorenzo Yachts that are the same. This has been clearly demonstrated by the unique five-stateroom SL104 planing yacht, that will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) this week. Read More
