Pendennis supports Wetzels Brown Partners on Heavenly Daze refit
The 1972 Feadship Heavenly Daze arrived at Pendennis at the end of September to commence her winter refit, due for completion May 2012. With a reputation as a sophisticated classic motor yacht the main focus of her visit is on her interiors, with significant restyling and upgrade to her saloon and dining area, as well as her VIP and guest cabins.
Pendennis’ Interior Design team is supporting Wetzels Brown Partners to restore the yachts original character whilst remaining true to her classic heritage. The refit will see the restoration of the yachts original fittings, whilst adding modern comforts and stylish accessories.
Gillian Brown, of Wetzels Brown Partners describes receiving the original brief from the Owner “We were approached with the exciting brief of restoring Heavenly Daze to her former Glory. Working with Pendennis we feel confident that the Owners vision will be brought to life and Heavenly Daze will soon be ready to write the next chapter in her history.”
Currently located in Pendennis’ 55m steel framed ‘White House’ refit space Heavenly Daze will also undergo an annual survey and general maintenance works with isolated deck and hull repairs, and top side repaint.
Jamie Painter, Captain of Heavenly Daze, explained the decision behind choosing Pendennis for the refit “We weighed up our refit options with various shipyards, but wanted the pedigree of the Pendennis name next to the project upon completion.”
Toby Allies, Sales and Marketing Director at Pendennis, continued: “We have worked closely with the Captain and Owner to pre-plan the series of works, enabling Pendennis to deliver a substantial refit in a tight time period. Our new refit facility in Palma will also be able to provide ongoing support once the yacht begins her Mediterranean charter season in June, ensuring our relationship with Heavenly Daze continues once she leaves the yard in Falmouth.”
Pendennis is set for another busy winter refit season, with the recent completion of refits on Gitana and Aria and with the arrival of the impressive 53m Perini Navi, Jasali II, housed in Pendennis’ outer dock with delivery due in February, and the company’s largest refit project to date Dona Amélia (72m) in the inner dry dock.
