Bureau Veritas launches new rules for superyachts

International Classification Society Bureau Veritas is launching NR500 DT R01E, a fully updated set of classification rules for Yachts and Large Yachts built in steel, aluminium alloys or composite materials. The Rules cover design approval, material and equipment certification and construction surveillance at the yard for single yacht building or for production in large series following an alternative survey scheme. Malta Flag now Europe’s top shipping register and endorsed as a Low Risk Flag

The Maltese Shipping Register was confirmed as the largest merchant flag in Europe and seventh worldwide by Clarkson Research Services, one of the leading providers of statistical services in the maritime sector. IYB announces commercial certification of yacht Awol

Lazzara’s 24 metre yacht Awol was delivered to the owner a few days ago and is currently enjoying an inaugural cruise through the Bahamas. She will then head down under to her permanent residence in Australia. Built at the company’s Tampa yard, the Lazzara designed Awol is the 22nd in the LSX 78 series of yachts. Read More

International Yacht Bureau signs agreement as surveyors with RINA

International Yacht Bureau recently finalized an agreement with the Italian classification society RINA to cooperate on their behalf as nonexclusive surveyors. First Nordhavn yacht achieves commercial certification

International Yacht Bureau (IYB) recently finalized the commercial certification of the Marshall Islands‐flagged motor yacht Caryali, an 86’ Nordhavn yacht. This internationally recognized approval for safety and pollution prevention allows the yacht to operate as a commercially‐registered yacht. She is the first Nordhavn Yacht to achieve this status worldwide. Read More
