Vripack has announced a management buy-in that sees a three-man team take over the daily operations of the world-leading marine engineering and design firm.
Peter Naeyé, who took over the company from Dick Boon in the late 1990s together with Bart Bouwhuis and Christian Poorte, has decided to dedicate his life to working with children suffering from cancer. Vripack is now owned and run by three partners: Marnix J. Hoekstra (sales director), Bart Bouwhuis (director of design) and Christian Poorte (director of engineering).
"My decision was based entirely on personal reasons,” comments Naeyé. “Following a long battle against cancer, my daughter died in 2005. This tragic event initiated a period of reflection, which concluded in May 2008 with my decision to investigate the possibility of handing over my shares to the existing management team. They would be able to take the company forward, allowing me to use my network and skills to support children with cancer and their parents. I am delighted that I am now able to pass over the helm of a flourishing company to three people with enormous experience within Vripack and the industry.”
The new management team is committed to remaining on the course set by the company over the past decade, which has seen the Vripack name become synonymous with premium naval architecture, design, styling and engineering. “This company’s success will continue to be based on dedicated team work by all our people who have brought us where we are today,” concludes Naeyé. “The future is exceptionally bright for Vripack.”
The ownership and operations of Vripack Yacht & Ship Brokers BV managed by Maarten Ten Holter is unchanged. The brokerage section of Vripack will continue their business as usual in close relationship with the Designers, Naval Architects and Engineers of Vripack Naval Architects.
