Charter Special III: Finest superyachts over 40m at the Genoa Charter Show
By Maarten Janssen
From 4 to 8 May 2009, Genoa hosted the 21st edition of the MYBA Charter Show. This is one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to charter professionals and superyachts. The exhibition is a select showcase for luxury charter yachts and the most exclusive display of ancillary services for the yachting industry.
SuperYachtTimes.com visited over 40 superyachts that were on display at this year's show in Genoa, and we will bring you a series of articles about the best charter yachts available. Today we bring you part two of our selection of fantastic superyachts for charter, over 40 meters.
This peerless 40-meter Feadship has a beautiful interior, designed by Lavor Design. Although relatively compact in size, no compromise is made in superyacht features such as four staterooms, two lounges, the owner's suite on the main deck, a study and a huge open sundeck, that features a large cushioned sunbed and a dining area.
On the maindeck, the main salon has an calm and relaxed atmosphere. Alcantara ceilings combine with light fabrics and carpets to create a roomy feel. Exquisite woodwork is found in the cornices and architraves, doorways, the stairway banister and the fine grains within the bloom-mahogany paneling.
Forward of the main salon, is the separate dining room, which features a mahogany quadrant dining table, that seats 10. For more informal dinners, there are two exterior dining areas as well. The main aft deck is the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, and the sundeck, which can be covered by awnings, offers a fantastic alfresco option. Chef Malin Kollerstrom is very passionate about food, and is famed for her Mediterranean and asian style of cooking, amongst many other styles.
On board Seaflower, the attention to detail is flawless. Captain Robin Cowie leads a professional team of 7, ready at your service.
