Sunreef Yachts announces the first order for its 31 metres (102 feet) luxury, double-deck, sailing catamaran Sunreef 102 with a launching scheduled for early 2009. Designed by Sunreef’s inhouse design team the sloop-rigged yacht is the largest catamaran manufactured by Sunreef Shipyard and will be one of  the few in the world of that size.

‘‘We are very excited by the interst in this model, it’s certainly the only double deck, an innovative Sunreef idea,’’ says Nicolas Lapp, the Vice President of Sunreef, ‘‘It is really quite revolutionary in the superyacht world.’.

The yacht’s interior design will be fully customised in close cooperation between the european owner  and the Sunreef team who has requested that she be ‘‘cosy, comfortable and homey’’, dominated by contrasting dark and light wenge and anegre wood and a classic Sunreef touch.

Using the environmentally friendly infusion method for composite construction, Sunreef has   couple years experience designing and building luxury sailing catarmarans in sizes from 60 to 150 feet. For bigger yachts though we propose both composite and aluminium materials to be chosen by the owner.

Building on this reputaton as a quality builder of luxury multihulls, Sunreef is now designing a 67 and 78 power catamaran.
