H2 and Laurent Giles present new 85 metre superyacht for Icon

Following the launch of the 50m platform at last year’s Monaco show, Icon Yachts approached H2 Design with a brief to develop an 85 metre concept working from the ICON platform design. Whilst H2 developed the exterior styling and GA, Laurent Giles Superyacht Architect’s were commissioned to provide the initial technical input required to start a new platform design.
The vessel is compliant with the latest MCA Passenger Yacht Code, with a nominal capacity for 18-20 guests. An LY2 / 12 passenger layout suited towards larger owner’s accommodation is also available. With the proposed diesel electric power plant the hull will have a max speed of over 19 knots with a cruising range of 6000 nautical miles.
The exterior styling of this new 85m concept focuses on a pure, uncluttered linear design style. The crisp chamfers and sharp edges contrasted by the flowing organic form of the superstructure combine to produce a timeless profile with a distinctive design element linking the hull to the bridge deck aft.
Inside, centrally located tender garages release valuable space from the aft, allowing for the renowned Icon beach club arrangement. On this concept a central pool, spa and gym facilities are accommodated.
Other interior features include a circular dining room, enclosed by full height glass and curved spine stairs. Panoramic views out over the aft bridge deck and light from the glass bottomed Jacuzzi above make for an impressive entertaining space.
