88 Metre Michael Leach superyacht design for Blohm + Voss unveiled

On September 21st at the Blohm + Voss stand during the Monaco Yacht Show 2011 a presentation for the 88m MCA Motor Yacht Concept was held. Following the recent successful collaboration and delivery of the 96 metre Palladium in 2010, Blohm + Voss and Michael Leach Design Ltd (MLD) have teamed up once again.

Mr. Cristian Schwarzwälder, Sales Director Yachts for Blohm + Voss, together with the designers Mick Leach and Mark Smith from Michael Leach Design Ltd unveiled a model of the 88m MCA Yacht Concept, which has been developed for the decerning yacht connaisseur, who wishes for his yacht to remain under 3,000GT. This will allow the yacht to follow MCA regulations, instead of those by SOLAS.

The yacht, which is clearly an evolution of Palladium, features a traditional two engine 2,895 hp propulsion package. This will give the yacht a top speed of 17 knots, and a range of 5,000nm at 15 knots.
