The Yachting division of Van der Velden Marine Systems will exhibit at Seatec 2008, the 6th International Exhibition of Technologies and Subcontracting for Boat and Ship Builders in Carrara, Italy (7 – 9 February 2008). We can be found at the stand of Navaltecnica, our agent in Italy (Zone E, Aisle 32/33, Lot 1009, 1036). Navaltecnica serves and supports customers buying Van der Velden manoeuvring systems, rudders, steering gear and EPS™ thrusters. The stand will showcase a prototype of the revolutionary EPS™ thruster and a video presentation.

Winner of the DAME Award at METS 2005 and the 2006 Dutch Maritime Innovation Award, the silent EPS™ Side Tunnel thruster, which is also available in a retractable version, represents a breakthrough in the fields of noise levels, low weight, space saving and comfort.

The success of the EPS™ Side Tunnel thruster led to the development of a propulsion variant, with the blades designed for one direction rather than the two needed for a side thruster (port and starboard). Launched at the Monaco Yacht Show 2007, the EPS™ Azimuthing Retractable thruster can be freely rotated over 360 degrees, allowing for optimum operational freedom. With the capability of continuous use, the EPS™ Azimuthing Retractable thruster can also be deployed as a main propeller on smaller yachts. The first orders for the EPS™ Azimuthing Retractable thruster have already been placed.
