IYC, Robert J. Cury & Associates & Churchill Yacht Partners Host Bahamas Flotilla

Tuesday, 29 March 2011

With a wonderful sense of collaboration and a specific purpose of presenting the many wonders of the Bahamas and its outstanding assets for yachting vacations to Mediterranean charter brokers, International Yacht Collection, Robert J. Cury & Associates and Churchill Partners have combined their strengths to develop next week’s Bahamas.

Flotilla (30 March – 4 April 2011). Recognising the value of the opportunity this collaboration represents, The Bahamas Tourism Office, Atlantis Marina and Albany Marina are all participating as event sponsors.

The event features a full four-day itinerary which kicks off opening night—30 March 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm—with a signature Yacht Hop at Atlantis Marina. Organizers expect a wide range of guests, including executives from Atlantis and the three founding firms, members of the Bahamas Port Authority, sponsors and media.

Each day of the Bahamas Flotilla affords guests the chance to sample many of the wonders of the Bahamas. Encapsulated, the itinerary follows:

March 31-Tour Atlantis before lunch; after lunch, departure to Shroud Cay. Tuscan Sun and Big City, At Last, Independence 2 and Hooter Patrol 4 captains are coordinating anchor so that all be will be close together to enjoy fishing, snorkeling and wave running. Dinner is on board with the movie, Blow, shown on each yacht.

April 1-Exploring Shroud Cay until noon with the opportunity to wave run, discover the mangroves by tender and snorkeling the Normans Cay. Lunch is held while underway to Malabar Cays (where yachts will anchor overnight). After lunch, a tender ride is available for those wishing to hike the Warderick Wells trails. Captain Gui Garcia will take a maximum of six certified divers out. Dinner guests rotate this evening.

April 2-Breakfast underway to Staniel Cay. Enjoy a potluck beach BBQ lunch with Thunderball snorkeling in the afternoon. Guests then go ashore to the Staniel Cay Yacht Club for a cocktail with dinner following aboard as guests once again rotate yachts. Anchor overnight.

April 3-Depart early for Highborne Cay, drop anchor and tender off to Allen’s Cay to feed the iguanas. Lunch is underway to the all-new private Albany Marina on the island of New Providence. Guests will enjoy a 6:00 pm Cocktail Party at Albany. Yacht Captains and one crew are invited to join in the festivities. Dinner guests rotate for dinner.

April 4-Guests are invited to a complete tour of Albany Marina by golf cart—development partners include Tiger Woods and Ernie Els—and the chance to enjoy swimming, gym and spa facilities. Departure.

With similar plans already underway for a January 2012 flotilla in the St Maarten-St. Bart’s-Anguilla region, each of the founding firms—International Yacht Collection, Robert J. Cury & Associates and Churchill Yacht Partners—acknowledge the tireless efforts of their charter managers who have arranged the logistics, coordinated the fleet and have worked so well together. These charter managers include Terry Hines and Jordanna Joffe (IYC), Nicole Caulfield (Robert J. Cury) and Els Bucknell (Churchill Yacht Partners).
