Merijn de Waard

Merijn's passion for yachts came at a very early age while sailing on the Dutch lakes with a 10m (32.8ft) sail boat of friends. As soon as he came in touch with the world of superyachts he knew that his future would be in this industry.

Merijn studied Finance in The Netherlands. During his study he started his own company and launched www.SuperYachtPhoto.com in February 2005. To strengthen his knowledge about the yacht industry Merijn choose to graduate on the issues of yacht registration and regulations for superyacht financer, Ciris Capital.

After graduating and the success of www.SuperYachtPhoto.com Merijn started to work on a new project, an online magazine. After six months development, SuperYachtTimes.com became a reality and as you will discover the site is continually updated every weekday with new news and new superyachts.

Merijn takes care for the day-to-day business of SuperYacht Times Media, and is responsible for keeping the superyacht orderbook within the publication up to date.
