Merijn de Waard

Merijn's passion for yachts came at a very early age while sailing on the Dutch lakes with a 10m (32.8ft) sail boat of friends. As soon as he came in touch with the world of superyachts he knew that his future would be in this industry.

Merijn studied Finance in The Netherlands. During his study he started his own company and launched www.SuperYachtPhoto.com in February 2005. To strengthen his knowledge about the yacht industry Merijn choose to graduate on the issues of yacht registration and regulations for superyacht financer, Ciris Capital.

After graduating and the success of www.SuperYachtPhoto.com Merijn started to work on a new project, an online magazine. After six months development, SuperYachtTimes.com became a reality and as you will discover the site is continually updated every weekday with new news and new superyachts.

Besides taking care for the day-to-day business of SuperYacht Times Media, Merijn is the chief editor of SuperYachtTimes.com. His focus is mainly directed at the brokerage, refit and new construction sectors within the publication.
