The 63 metre Lürssen superyacht Polar Star that has since her launch in 2005 been dressed in an iconic blue and white exterior finish, recently underwent a cosmetic change in Barcelona where her hull and superstructure had been re-sprayed. The yacht now features a military light-grey exterior with brown accents adding some contrast. A further visible addition is a new fixed hard top canopy on the sundeck forward area. This latest enhancement should solve the problem for many in distinguishing between Polar Star and 75 metre sister ship Northern Star.
Launched as Northern Star in 2005, the 63 metre Polar Star was designed as a gentleman’s world-cruiser by Espen Oeino, and features interior styling by Pauline Nunns and Serena Williams-Ellis. The original owner of the yacht sold her in 2007 ahead of the delivery of his second yacht, the 75 metre Northern Star, a very similar looking vessel.
