Abu Dhabi Yacht Show on target for 2009

The 1st Abu Dhabi Yacht Show, due to take place in March 2009 will introduce a new concept of superyacht-leisure to this rapidly developing market. Abu Dhabi, Capital of the United Arab Emirates, and the richest city in the world, is paving the way to become the leading large-yacht centre of the Middle East.

"The Abu Dhabi Yacht Show will be the first time ever many of the residents of this region will have seen such a selection of superyachts and it will introduce the idea of owning or chartering large, luxury yachts. The sheer size, beauty and elegance of the yachts we have coming to the show will no doubt impress the ultra-high-net-worth individuals attending this 'invitation only' exclusive event," explains Franck Dailles, Director of ADYS. "The Abu Dhabi Yacht Show will be the catalyst in sparking a whole new market for the top-end of the yacht sales and service industry in Middle East and Asia."

The Abu Dhabi Yacht Show will comprise of 7,000 square metres of exhibition space in the state of the art Adnec Centre and a 2,000 square metres in-water exhibition as well as top-class restaurants and elegant lounge areas for business and relaxation. The show promises to promote the exclusivity, style and luxury expected by the wealthiest of the UAE residents and visitors and an ideal platform to promote the yachting experience.

Over 50 exhibitors are currently signed, representing yacht builders, naval architects, marina developers, yacht brokers and yacht service companies from all over the world.

An historic and well established city with a rich and diverse culture, Abu Dhabi's current development and investment programme in quality infra-structure, communications and real estate is unprecedented, but core to much of the development is the integration of the area's natural resources, the sea and surrounding islands. The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority in recognition of this vast potential are providing vital support to the development and promotion of the marine leisure market.
