Bay Bridge Boat Show Add Green Features to Popular Annual Spring Event

The marine industry has long recognized that the health of the environment is paramount to the enjoyment of the sport of boating. So, it should come as no surprise that the upcoming Bay Bridge Boat Show is exhibiting a variety of green initiatives and eco-friendly trends at this year’s event.

The show will run April 24-27, 2008 at Kent Island’s Bay Bridge Marina; itself a DNR designated “Clean Marina.” The show will feature a “Green Initiative” tent, sponsored by the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. The tent will showcase exhibits that highlight the growing green movement in the boating community. Some include, The Black Lab 23V Super Top, which BOE Marine will have on display. This boat is part of the Black Lab Plate Alloy line and is made of l00% recyclable aluminum for lightweight and fuel efficiency. BOE Marine will be onsite to teach you why recent innovations in aluminum technology are quickly building Black Lab’s reputation as the preferred maintenance free “green” center console.

Eastern Shore Electric Boats of Oxford, Maryland will exhibit an electric boat from Duffy Electric Boat Company. Needless to say, the Duffy Electric boat is environmentally friendly and inexpensive to operate.

The Oyster Hotel is another green exhibit invented by Andrew Murdza, founder of Oyster King 1, Inc. The Oyster Hotel houses and grows baby seed oysters and keeps them safe and healthy until they reach maturity. Murdza has partnered with the developer of the Jet Dock to produce the dual purpose Jet Dock Oyster Breeder Aquaculture System. The floating lift system/Oyster Hotel combination will filter and clean 1000 gallons of bay water per hour.

Come and check out the many green exhibits and over 500 new and brokerage boats on display in the water and ashore at the 2008 Bay Bridge Boat Show.
