Bruce Kessler to represent Northern Marine at Maryland Trawlerfest

Northern Marine Company LLC, the Anacortes, Wash. – based yacht builder has announced that noted yachtsman Bruce Kessler will be their spokesperson at the upcoming Solomons, Md., TrawlerFest event, scheduled for September 25 through 28 at the Calvert Marina in Solomons, Md., where he will be on-hand to answer technical questions about the company’s full line of all-composite Long Range Cruisers.

Kessler is best known for his extensive offshore voyaging, and has logged tens of thousands of miles navigating the world’s oceans. He owns the 62’ Northern Marine motor yacht Spirit of Zopilote, built in 1997 as the first of the company’s LRC series. In 1998 Kessler was named Passagemaker of the Year by West Marine and Trawler World, a web site now known as Trawlers and Trawlering. Other honors include recognition as 2007 Yachtsman of the year by the Pacific Coast Yachting Association and by the Association of Santa Monica Bay Yacht Clubs. Kessler, whose background includes being an international racing driver in the late 1950’s and a career as a director of movies, television films and series. He has cruised extensively in North American waters and has completed a global circumnavigation.

Kessler recently was active as an the creator and organizer of the 2007 FUBAR Odyssey, a late-summer rally of some 48 boats that cruised from Southern California to La Paz, Mexico, on the Sea of Cortez. He will be available during the Solomons TrawlerFest event at the Northern Marine booth.
