Titus says: “We feel that we have a great dynamic and the two of us working together can only benefit our clients and the specialized service that we deliver.” Johnston adds, “With Carolyn’s first hand experience with yacht charter management, we anticipate expanding that facet of the business here in the Newport office”.

Titus began her career in the marine business and yacht charter industry directly of school when she started at Sparkman & Stephens in New York. She continued her career when John Alden offered her the management of their Boston charter department where she operated for 6 years.

A unique aspect of Titus’ career is that she managed, operated and directed the Nautor Swan charter fleet with responsibility in the US, Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Concurrent with her Swan business, she instigated Cox Marine Ltd. to expand her sales into power yachts and broadened the scope of her business internationally.

Carolyn has been an integral part of the development of yacht charters as this segment of the industry grew and demanded a much higher level of professionalism. Titus was a founding member of the American Yacht Charter Association and one of the charter brokers that created and introduced the San Remo Yacht Meeting (which developed into today’s MYBA Genoa Show.) She held position on the Board for the first 13 years of the Meeting before retiring.

Carolyn has also sailed as a junior sailor at Larchmont Yacht Club and has continued cruising and racing to this day. She has participated in the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta for the past 12 years and organizes a race program comprised of a 22 person crew. Married to yacht broker, Bill Titus, they spend their time, energy and vacations focusing on yachts and yachting.
