New 37m yacht hit by fire in Italy

In the early hours of Sunday, a 37-metre motor yacht caught fire in Marina di Carrara, Italy. According to reports in the Italian media the yacht caught fire at 01:00 and no casualties have been reported. 

When the fire broke out only the captain was on board, who managed to safely leave the vessel and was soon joined on-site by the fire service from Massa and Carrara, police and the coast guard. As seen in various images on the internet, the yacht has partly sunk and has been heavily damaged by the fire.

Reporting from Italy: Thanks to her construction and the quick action of the fire brigade, the yacht has been saved and is currently being refitted at The Italian Sea Group.
