Exploring a History of Yachting

When it comes to the exploration of the History of Yachting, there is no one better suited to the task than revered yacht historian Malcolm Wood, a man almost unrivalled in the superyacht industry when it comes to comprehensive knowledge of vessels. Almost 30 years ago Wood took it upon himself to reinvent the validity and availability of superyacht data, in a process that continues to this day.

With his unparalleled level of expertise, it is with excitement that we announce Wood’s participation in SuperYacht Gallery London. Wood will be giving two historic seminars; the first will take a closer look at the Large Classic Motoryachts from the End of the Steam Era. Accompanied by Wood’s own personal collection of photographs through the years, he will examine a few of the classic survivors today, and contemplate which present day motor yachts will become future classics. This will take place in London’s Saatchi Gallery on 2nd June at 14:00. Buy your ticket here.

The second Historical seminar will take place on 3rd June at 13:00, and will explore the History of Yachting in more detail - from looking at the very first yacht brokers, the importance of sail versus motor in the early days, the boom of big yachts in the 1930s and when the yards as we know them today really started to evolve. To hear Wood present the History of Yachting, buy your ticket here to avoid disappointment.
