Falcon Rydell to manage first Icon 62

Yacht management company Falcon Rydell has announced that it has been awarded the contract to manage a new 62-metre motoryacht due for launch in the summer of 2009. The Icon 62 will be the first superyacht to be completed by a new luxury yachtbuilder, Icon Yachts in the Netherlands.

Established in the 1990s, Falcon Rydell provides a wide range of yacht management and support services to both existing yachts and projects under construction. The owners of the Icon 62 have asked the company to take an integrated approach that combines the five pillars of yacht management: Operations, maintenance, finance, crew and safety.

Falcon Rydell has already started working with the captain and first officer on selecting and certifying the crew for this highly prestigious project. And the yacht management specialists are also busy organising flag state documentation. After launching, the Icon 62 will cruise in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, and will be available for charter.

Running a yacht over 500 GT involves many complex issues,” adds Duncan Schaaf, manager at Falcon Rydell. “From maintaining the vessel to organising ISM and ISPS, there is so much involved. With our wealth of experience and global network of contacts, Falcon Rydell ensures that owners can relax and enjoy their onboard life.”
