First look on board superyacht Petrus II

Petrus II, Benetti’s first yacht built in the new Classic range, is getting ready for her US debut at the Miami Boat Show 2013. The new Benetti Classic Supreme 132 measures 40.24 meters overall, with a maximum beam of 8.28 meters. The project brief was guided by the necessity to present an ever more competitive vessel to the market.

One of the yacht’s best features are her oversized windows, of which she has plenty. I visited the yacht on the Cote d’Azur, and was impressed by the use of glass, in combination with her folding balconies.

The owner’s cabin for example, features a private terrace, that even in closed position, offers its occupants a unique view through the curved windows, that follow the shape of the bow.

Inside, she is styled by Zuretti, in collaboration with the yard’s own design team. The interior is a blend of natural oak and wengè, enriched with handmade leather inserts.

All the other models in Benetti’s Class range are equipped with innovative technological systems, such as The BEST platform (Benetti’s exclusive Sea Technology), which integrates all onboard electronic systems with a single user friendly interface.

I was also very impressed by the amount of exterior deck space devoted to guests. The foredeck for example, features a lounge area, sunpads, and a large Jacuzzi. A second Jacuzzi can be found on the 100m2 sundeck.

Apart from the main deck owner’s stateroom, the yacht features four cabins – two VIP and two twin cabins. All are well above average in size for this size yacht, and all come with a view of the sea through large portholes.

We plan to run a full onboard feature of the yacht later in the month.
